Our Newest Creation… Whoopie Pies!

According to food lore, when Amish farmers would discover these treats in their lunch pails, they’d shout “Whoopie!” Now you’ll have the opportunity to do the same (though you may get some funny looks from your fellow diners at Fresh).

We’ve been busy, and as if we didn’t have enough delicious treats to keep you busy, add our new Whoopie Pies to your must-try list. If you enjoy marshmallow cream-filled chocolate cookie sandwiches (who doesn’t?), this one’s for you. It’s just the right size to have after a meal — or any time, of course!

A Peek Behind the Scenes: The Making of Our New Berry Pie Crumble Square

Summer tastes like fresh berries, and the berry-lovers out there will love what we’ve been busy making. It’s the Berry Pie Crumble Square, and here’s how we do it:

First, we roll out an organic spelt flour crust

We mix together some juicy wild blueberries, strawberries and raspberries, stir in a little bit of organic evaporated cane juice, and spread the berries evenly over the crust.

Next, we cover the berries with a topping of organic rolled oats and cinnamon.

And make sure that the topping is easily spread.

Finally, we bake it, cut it into pieces, and enjoy.

We’re continuing to bake the same delicious recipe this month, only switching strawberries for perfectly tart raspberries. Enjoy a raspberry filling in our classic vanilla cupcake batter, with a swirl of creamy raspberry icing on top.

Some call it football and some call it soccer, but everyone would agree that this is cake should be called delicious. It’ll sweeten any World Cup viewing session, regardless of which team wins.

For the next few weeks, we’re offering a themed seven inch double layer Chocolate, Vanilla, or Spiced Carrot Cake for $35. Cakes must be picked up at our head office at 218 Canarctic Drive, and orders must be placed by noon two days before pick up. Pick up is available any weekday or Sunday. We’re bringing back what may be our best feature cupcake yet! A customer once described it as tasting like ‘falling in love for the first time’. We mixed a luscious strawberry pie filling right into our classic vanilla cupcake batter, and topped it with a swirl of lightly sweetened “cream cheese” frosting, turned a delicate pink with strawberry puree.
