We are currently operating out of our third production facility in North Toronto that has excellent TTC access and have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our organization as a Maintenance Mechanic.
About the Role
Full-time Days
The Maintenance Mechanic will be involved in the daily maintenance routine of the bakery operation. Duties include the following:
- Perform minor and major repair of all equipment and facilities.
- Perform preventive maintenance procedures on equipment on a scheduled basis;
- Perform routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on equipment and facilities.
- Complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists on equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
- Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
- Other Duties as required
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Experience setting up, repairing and performing preventive maintenance on flow wrapping equipment.
- Experience in repairs and set up/trouble shooting of commercial bakery equipment such as: mixers, sheeters, bar lines, depositors.
- Ability to trouble shooting pneumatic and mechanical systems.
- Basic electrical trouble shooting and repair knowledge required.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of plumbing with the ability to make basic repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Ability to identify and order replacement parts as well as reaching out to suppliers and machine builders for information related to existing equipment.
- Working and coordinating work with outside contractors on a regular basis.
- Ability to work independently and track completed and scheduled work using a work order management system.
- Must have the discipline to maintain and manage a stock room with spare parts.
- Lift truck and scissor lift experience required.
- Experience repairing and maintaining conveyor systems.
- Team player and self-starter with strong sense of urgency that takes initiative as required.
Minimum Requirements:
Education/Experience:
High school diploma and two years of responsible experience in equipment maintenance and repair; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience. Good skill in the use of hand and power tools. Basic knowledge of computer software.
