 1.       What is your favourite Sweets from the Earth product? And why?

My favorite product would be the Chocolate Walnut Brownie.  I love it not only because of the rich flavor but also because of the crisp outside texture and soft chewy middle.

2.       When do you indulge and eat your Sweets – Morning/Afternoon/Night?

I like to eat my sweets in the evening after a nice savory dinner.  I am a big believer in all things green vegetables and all things chocolate!

3.       Do you follow any special diets?

I am vegan and enjoy eating more raw during the warmer months.

4.       If you had to choose your last meal on Earth, what would it be?

My last meal would be simple.  It would consist of lots of organic steamed greens, lentils, crisp tempeh and avocado with a creamy tahini sauce over a big bowl of quinoa, with a side of perfectly cooked fries of course J

5.       What is on your nightstand?

On my night stand I have my ipad, my alarm clock, receipts and pictures of family/friends.

If I told you that you could eat cookies and ice cream for dessert tonight. I bet that would bring a smile to your face!

Now before you go and buy Oreo’s and Haagen-Dazs, let me enlighten you.

Most of the cookies that you have grown up with in your lunchbox are loaded with ingredients that you do not want circulating around your body or passed on to future generations. As they are processed, refined and add no nutritional value.

I know we are talking cookies and dessert here, but there is something to be said about quality, especially when you can have whole ingredients from the earth all packed into one cookie.

Sweets from the Earth cookies alone are delicious, but these cookies combined with ice cream are even better. I wouldn’t pair them with anything other than Coconut Bliss, a rich, soft creamy dessert that is vegan and pure. This decadence creamed inside of two scrumptious cookies is nothing short of sweet bliss.

This is by no mean’s a low fat or low calorie dessert, but what I can tell you is that it 100% wholesome using naturally sourced ingredients that not only taste good, but make you feel good!

Marni’s favourite Cookie Bliss Combo:

What you need:

2 spelt Sweet from the Earth chocolate chip cookies

1/3 cup combined vanilla island and dark chocolate Coconut Bliss

What you do:

  1. Allow pints of ice cream to melt for 10 minutes on counter top
  2. Measure out 1/3 cup of ice cream and combine in a bowl to make it look “swirled”
  3. Place back into measuring cup and scoop onto 1 spelt cookie and top with the other spelt cookie
  4. Close your eyes and take a bite!

Even Better!

If you have allergies, Sweets from the Earth has that covered. They have two separate facilities. One that specializes in gluten free and one that is nut free! Both are vegan and divine!

I’ve never considered myself much of the writing type. So starting a blog seems a bit daunting to me, but hey, it’s a new year, and I think the time is right to step outside my comfort zone (ie. the kitchen) for a few minutes. My goal in doing this is to stay connected with you! My hope is that you’ve tried and are a fan of our original vegan desserts, and if not, we’d like to have you on board.

I’m excited for you to learn more about who’s eating, making, and selling Sweets from the Earth desserts in this space. You can look forward to ‘Sweet Talking Tuesdays’ where we’ll feature interviews with engaging members from our community, and twice a month we’ll be happy to introduce you to a special guest blogger.

Whether you choose our products for dietary restrictions, or just simply because you’ve tried them and know that there’s a healthier and more delicious way to indulge, we’re thrilled when our customers tell us how much they enjoy what we bake. We thrive on your feedback, so stay in touch and let us know what you’re eating, and what you’re loving.

Simply check back here to find out what we’re up to, and what’s to come from your favourite (we hope!) vegan bakery.

First entry complete. That wasn’t so bad!
