The only thing better than one dessert is two desserts!

We think our Cookies ‘n’ Cream Cupcake is pretty great on its own – a moist chocolate and vanilla cupcake, with light, whipped vanilla “buttercream” icing swirled with decadent double chocolate chip cookies pieces. But the bonus is there’s a mini double chocolate chip cookie that sits on top! (YUM). All of our cupcakes are baked in our nut-free bakery, and, of course, are also free of eggs, dairy, preservatives, artificial colour, and refined sugars.

Our sweet owner and chief baker, Ilana Kadonoff, has been vegan for much of her life. It was her love of delicious sweets that inspired her to start Sweets from the Earth in the first place. Any treats that look or sound tasty, or which she remembers as being incredibly delicious, she can make taste just as good (and often even better) with all natural, plant-based, GMO-free ingredients.

We can all agree that there’s nothing better than warm challah, and after giving up the egg bread recipe she enjoyed as a child, Ilana spent months in the kitchen experimenting with recipes, until the glorious day on which it was perfected. As with all our baking, our Challah is Kosher Pas Yisroel, vegan, and this special bread is also organic, sesame-free, and baked in our nut-free facility in Toronto.

Blueberry and cheesecake go together like apple and pie!

Our Wild Blueberry Cheesecake is one of our favourite desserts to make and enjoy, and we believe the fruity topping is just as important to nail as the sweet graham base, and the cheesecake itself. (Another sweet secret: you can place a special order for a gluten free version of our 7″ or 10″ round Wild Blueberry Cheesecake!)nf-blueberry-cheesecakeWe only use wild Canadian blueberries which are smaller, tastier, and sweeter than cultivated blueberries. The skin of wild blueberry is full of strong antioxidants that kill free radicals (responsible for diseases like cholesterol, diabetes, cancer, etc.) in the human body. A cup of wild blueberries has almost twice the skin as a cup of cultivated blueberries. Twice the skin, twice the antioxidant power!

From the outside, it just looks like a delicious Chocolate Cupcake. But bite into it and experience the creamy vanilla surprise!

People have been wondering how we get the fillings inside our cupcakes, and we’re finally sharing our sweet secret. Our incredible team scoops out the middles of the cupcakes, and pipes in the fillings into each cupcake by hand (that’s a LOT of scooping and piping!). But no one complains – in fact it’s everyone’s favourite thing to do, because after we scoop all the delicious cupcake cores, we eat them! Most enjoy them plain, some enjoy them with icing, and others love them with fruit.

We guess size does matter – at least when it comes to buying dessert!

Our Caramel Almond Shortbread is smaller than our other individually packaged sweets, so it often gets passed up for a fuller-looking sweet treat. There is one ingredient that our sweet owner and chief baker, Ilana Kadonoff, won’t eat on its own. In fact she despises it! But she insists on including it in her brownie recipe because she believes it was meant to be there.

Ilana doesn’t like walnuts… that is, unless they’re in brownies! She insists that’s what they were meant for, and that’s where they belong.

Walnuts add the perfect texture, flavour, and crunch to our gluten-free, vegan brownies, which we all believe should be fudgy, not cakey, have an intense chocolate flavour, but not cloyingly sweet. Most people insist butter and eggs are essential for the perfect brownie, but not us. We all think ours is perfect just the way it is!

There’s a good reason our Flourless Cashew Cookie is the creamiest, richest, most decadent cookie you will ever taste. It doesn’t contain dairy, we don’t use eggs, and there’s no gluten. So, what’s our secret? Cashew Butter. And lots of it.

You may have seen our vegan cheesecakes in the freezer section of your local grocer, and maybe you’ve even picked one up and enjoyed (thank you!). But would you believe, our best-selling cheesecake isn’t even boxed and sold at retailers across the country? Nope, our best seller is custom order!

Our Vanilla Bean Cheesecakes are only available 7” and 10” round (as opposed to our Chocolate, Wild Blueberry, and Espresso flavours which are square and available either boxed or round). They were originally intended to be sold to restaurants to serve to guests with their house syrups and fruit toppings. Customers started reaching out to us to request to pick up vanilla cheesecakes from our bakery, and to our surprise, these pick-up orders have surpassed our retail cheesecake sales!

All of our nut-free dairy-free cheesecakes are made with nutritious ingredients like organic spelt and organic tofu. The gluten-free versions include a blend of flours including whole grain brown rice and sorghum. Like all of our sweets, our cheesecakes contain no preservatives or refined sugars.

We can finish with a swirl of chocolate on top and chocolate shavings around the outside, on request, or we can inscribe a message on top at no extra charge. Our Vanilla Bean Cheesecake and our Blueberry Cheesecake are both available either nut-free or gluten-free.
