Order Picker
Sweets from the Earth (SFTE) is a commercial bakery operation at Steeles W. and Keele, specializing in vegan, nut free and non-GMO baked goods. As one of the fastest growing companies in Canada, we are looking for experienced, well-rounded candidates to join our growing team.
We are currently looking for an Order Picker/Packer to expand our Shipping team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Use tablets to open orders and pick products line by line from the walk-in freezer.
- Ensure the following take place:
- Accurate recording of lot codes in the tablets.
- All products are picked based on FIFO methodology.
- Correct quantity of products is packed into boxes.
- Correct customer name labels are applied to outer boxes.
- All orders are complete and cleared from the screen before shift end.
- Food safety procedures are being adhered to at all times.
- Quality checks are being done at every stage.
- Isolate any product that does not meet the established quality standards.
- Fill out Product Waste Sheet as needed.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with team members and Director of Operations.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in clean and orderly condition.
- Communicate with Team Lead about stock issues or any other problems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- At least two years order picking experience in a food manufacturing facility required.
- Must be comfortable working with tablets.
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills, Communication Skills, Time Management.
- Must be coachable and efficient.
- High School Education Required.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Knowledge of GMPs and Food Safety programs is an asset.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to perform basic physical tasks such as lifting 35 lbs.
- Must be comfortable working in walk-in freezers (-18 C).
